Entertainment Staffing Agencies, etc., and Other Ways that Struggling Celebrities Can Survive/Thrive

It has been a bit startling to learn of once highly acclaimed entertainers who are down on their luck or who are working traditional jobs. There is certainly honor in working any honest job, and I commend anyone who elects honest work over dishonest gain. Anyone, a common person or celebrity, who works any honest job is honorable. Jaheim's "Anything" song video helps to establish this point. Renown entertainers have an advantage where prospective opportunities in their genre are concerned, however. If you've ever recorded a chart-topping song or popularly loved music, the music will be forever loved, and you should be forever paid. People will always want to hear your music, pre-recorded and in person. If you are or if you've been a professional singer and/or dancer or actor, you could, in addition to or in lieu of continuing to sing and dance and/or act professionally, become a voice/ dancing or acting coach or teacher. You might need to know where to look for opportunities, nonetheless. There are numerous staffing agencies for novice and major entertainers (singers, actors, etc.) who might need help connecting with desired opportunities.

The following is a list of agencies that specialize in staffing entertainers:

Ideal Jobs for Retired Professional Athletes

If you're a retired professional athlete, you'll very likely have an advantage over other candidates for coaching jobs. Depending on how good you were, you could possibly land a job coaching a professional or college athletic team and earn a very generous salary on either venture. You could otherwise acquire employment coaching middle or high school or elementary/pee wee athletic teams...

Entrepreneurial Ventures

Entrepreneurial ventures for singers/dancers or actors and athletes could include creating companies via which they could coach others who are interested in becoming professional singers/dancers or actors or athletes. Those who are physically fit could become personal trainers. Because entertainers are trend setters typically, many are and others would likely be very successful fashion designers...

Become a Politician or Public Speaker

Many entertainers can easily transition into other public careers like politics and/or public speaking. Though many if not most politicians hold college degrees, it is not essential. In most instances, the prospect simply needs to be of age and meet specific residency requirements. To become a senator, for example, one must be at least 30 years old, a United States citizen for at least 9 years, and they must reside in the state that they'd represent. To become a member of the house of representatives, one must be at least 25 years of age, a United States citizen for at least 7 years, and a resident of a state, though they are not required to reside in their represented district. To become president of the United States, one must be at least 35 years of age, a natural born citizen of the United States, and a resident for 14 years. There are several other political careers to consider. To become an exceptional politician, one would only need consult with me on how to perfect any public policies. To become a public speaker, one simply needs to have a worthy message. I list several speakers bureaus to which you can sign up in this previous post, if you're interested in a public speaking career.

Work from Home

There are many legitimate work from home opportunities, i.e. those that can be found via Flexjobs, for example. This might be ideal for you and/or your significant other and/or other members of your household who too might experience challenges that are relational to your celebrity in endeavoring to work a regular job. A somewhat traditional, out-of-the-lime-light job or employment where your celebrity won't subject you or any employer to which you'd otherwise have to report in person to possible public hysteria is precisely what you need, if you're that caliber of celebrity. You'll have to acquire all of the necessary equipment to do this, of course, i.e. computers, headsets, etc. I discuss in this previous post the need for effectuating flex employment agencies that would specialize in helping interested persons acquire work-from-home opportunities and synonymous equipment.

Get out of Debt and Live Conservatively

Work on paying out all of your outstanding bills and living within your means. Cut back on buying expensive clothing, shoes, etc. Buy your clothing, shoes, etc. out of season when they are significantly discounted. When I was employed in the shoe department at the SteinMart that used to be on Roswell Rd. in Atlanta years ago, the store was frequented by rich and famed individuals, including the Mr. Scripps Howard, who was pointed out to me by another customer who discerned that I clearly had no idea who he was. A very wealthy gentleman named Jim who owned a company that builds hotels was another routine customer who'd take advantage of the out-of-season discounts of up to 80% or more. Jim has a son who is a doctor for whom he would additionally purchase discounted shoes in bulk. I thought of how amusing it is that rich people are so frugal and how it is collectively those who are income-challenged who spend the most on clothing and shoes.

You can purchase things like especially nice jeans, etc. from local thrift shops that are of the same or similar quality of those that you'd purchase out of any department store or mall. My very favorite thrift store is Value Village on Metropolitan Parkway in Atlanta. Many of the nice clothing that I purchased from the store still had the original designer tags on them. Much of this merchandise was/is donated from other clothing stores during those periods of the year when they clear out their inventory to make way for the new. When people frequently commented on how nicely I dressed, I'd proudly tell them that the outfits that they likely presumed I'd paid a lot of money for on average costed me less than or not too much more than $10.00 for the entire outfit.

Stop the Controlled Substances and Excessive Spending on Romantic Partners

Stop the controlled substances and excessive spending on romantic partners!!! You compromise your life and health and your wealth doing drugs. If you're not feeling perky, try changing your diet or eating more fruit and vegetables and drinking more water and/or taking nutritional supplements. If you're selling drugs, stop that too. Quick financial fixes are not worth the risk of losing your freedom and possibly everything you own. Your romantic partner should be concerned about your well-being and keeping you out of trouble. You should mutually/reasonably invest in each other.

Downsize if you Must

If the swanky mansion that you bought becomes too much for you to afford, sell it and purchase a home that you can afford, even if this means relocating from New York City or Los Angeles (the entertainment Meccas) to suburban or metropolitan areas from which you could readily commute, if you're working/endeavoring to work in LA or NYC.

It's better to live in a $200,000-$400,000 or less home and be content than it is to struggle or lose one in the million or billion-dollar range to foreclosure that you cannot afford, noting that foreclosure would negatively impact your credit. There are many beautiful homes in the $200,000 to $400,000 price range.

If you cannot find one that suits your taste, however, you could have an affordable home built; there are numerous affordable custom home builders in New York and California, etc. Google custom home builders in your area to locate them.

If you're capable of salvaging that mansion with your new gigs, great. Work hard to completely pay for whatever home you decide on. It would be a major relief to no longer have a mortgage to pay, especially when you're of age or can no longer work. Do not worry about what anyone who isn't helping you pay your bills thinks.

Save/Invest

If you are or if you've been a professional entertainer and/or athlete who is or has been down on your luck you know now the importance of investing/saving. Once you're earning again, save. Consider investing in Certificates of Deposit (CDs). Aim at an investment amount that would pay you enough interest to comfortably pay your bills when you can no longer work.

Acquire Higher Education and/or Contact Any College You've Graduated from for Job Placement

Consider acquiring higher education, whether it is to increase your marketability in your public genre or another interest. Having especially at least a bachelors degree in any major could set you on a path to substantial earnings. Certain technical degrees could do the same. Once you've graduated from your choice college, you can contact the employment placement office regarding connecting you to synonymous opportunities at any time...

Advantages of Acquiring a Spouse with a Traditional J-O-B and Benefits

If you've been unlucky finding a mate who is your equal, consider acquiring a spouse in the traditional working class who'll add you to their healthcare and other benefits. This could save you a lot of out of pocket costs for any medical attention you might need. Make certain, first and foremost, that it is someone you truly love and that they truly love you and are not seeking to simply be taken care of. Try to make certain that you're selecting someone who truly wants to be your help mete, someone who'll continue working until they're eligible for their pension and/or full retirement benefits.

In Conclusion and Summation

If you're an entertainer who is down on your luck, you can rebound by locating opportunities in your genre that you may not have previously known of.via either of the entertainment staffing agencies previously listed in this post or by conducting an independent Google or other search of your own.You could otherwise utilize your public speaking skills to become a politician and/or a professional public speaker. You could consider the stated entrepreneurial ventures and/or work-from-home opportunities. Consider further acquiring higher education to improve your marketability. Acquire a spouse with a traditional job/benefits that you could be added to. Save and invest once you're working again. Invest an amount in a Certificate of Deposit (CD) that would yield you enough interest income to comfortably live on when you can no longer work.
