Develop a Working Mentality

I have listened to a number of sound arguments from varied individuals for why they have renounced participation in the traditional work force. Those arguments range from racial discrimination and harassment to any of a myriad of issues. Those arguments and issues, regardless of validity, are only sound for those who are successfully/earnestly self employed, however...

Those who continue working face the same issues that those who have quit the job force were facing. No one wants to deal with those things. We must work to earn a living, however. If you're having issues on your job, try, in all diplomacy, communicating those issues to your superiors. If that doesn't work, find another job. Do not leave the one you have until you acquire another one, however...

If you're like most of us, you have bills to pay and/or some form of responsibility that makes working essential. If you're having trouble finding a new job, seek intervention, whether it's requesting a job referral from the Department of Labor or asking friends/acquaintances or relatives for job leads. Commit to honest work, even if this means relaxing your pride and working jobs that you might not necessarily like...

We should all have personal goals for self improvement, whether it's acquiring higher education or simply that better job, paying off bills, et cetera, et cetera. Focusing on your goals helps you to cope with unpleasant things that you might face on the job. Keeping in mind that there are many other jobs out there additionally helps.

If you're unhappy with the job you have, it is quite possible to find one that you'll like or even love. Develop a mindset of working every day that you possibly can, though, by all means, utilize your vacation, holiday, sick and/or personal days. Determine that you're going to work until you're a seasoned retirement age or until you've earned retirement from your job. We were all created to participate in the world's work. It is indeed how we earn our stay...
