There are generally about 10 observed holidays for which full-time employees are paid with time off, chump change for many employers that hire part-timers.
Paying part-time employees working in school districts and other relevant industries for additional breaks or company closure dates, where it can be afforded, would not only be fair, it would best demonstrate company appreciation and incentive for employee retention.
